So today I visited my Granpda at the hospital. He had to get surgery on his spine. He’s doing much better. He’s going through therapy for his hands and legs. He just learned how to do the hang loose sign with his hands. I know he doesn’t have much time here with us so I try to talk to him and see him as much as possible. We aren’t super duper close since he lived like 5-6 hours away in Santa Barbara. I wish I could have seen him more as a kid. I’m trying to make up for that lost time by talking to him more and getting to know about his history. He told me about how he was a paper son and went to Angel Island. He said he came to America with 3 dollars in his pocket. He then made the first Chinese restaurant in his area. My grandpa has gone through so much to put me and my family where we are now. I thank him and I love him.
